Welcome to my Substack. This is where whatever passes through my forebrain in sufficient coherence gets put, as an aide memoir. It is unedited, unchecked and unneeded. I reserve the right to revise my posts to correct errors, but I’ll mark them as they happen, if I think of it.

I am a retired academic of 20 years, after a 30 year career in printing and publishing. I have published books, some of which have been influential in the philosophy of biology, and others of which… have not. I’ve also published a number of papers, book chapters, reviews and popular writings. You can get my details here.

I am the Holy Profit of Chocolatism, which is not a religion (okay, it has a deity). It is being worked up into a philosophical series of revelations and intuitions, entitled Chocosophy. I may one day publish this.
